  7. PanServ is a development product that will both substantially reduce
  8. development time and also allow far less experienced developers to produce
  9. complex systems. The product offers terminal independent display services as
  10. well as built-in DB. These services are easily tailored to the user's demands.
  11. PanServ begins with a number of ``soft'' screens. It allows the user to define
  12. optionally most characteristics including the size, fields, keys, and functions
  13. of each screen. All this can be dynamically accessed by the system or called
  14. through C function calls. This programming interface can be loaded as an
  15. independent process

  17. PanServ can be used for asynchronous input, verification and display of data in
  18. a format defined by the user. The panels or ``soft'' screens generated are
  19. field oriented and of any size. Data input from the keyboard can be freely
  20. user-defined, including multiple sequences, and ESC sequences off single keys.
  21. These characteristics can be defined through tables and files. Users of the
  22. product have created completed office automation systems with the use of this
  23. product and a C compiler. The users need never leave the user-friendly
  24. draw-like PanServ environment.
